Grammy-nominated songwriter Luke Reynolds first came to national attention as the songwriter and voice of Blue Merle (Island/Def Jam). The band's acoustic sound and pop sensibilities left critics to dub them "a rootsy, thinking-person's Coldplay." Luke's latest project Pictures & Sound (Vanguard) finds him expanding his sonic palette and showcasing his outstanding songcraft. A monster multi-instrumentalist who tours frequently with Guster and Brett Dennen, Luke plays whatever is closest to him, scary well. Humanitarian, outdoorsman, and environmental advocate, Luke's background working with developmentally challenged youth, his commitment to service, and his genius as creator of music make him a valued asset to our list of teachers.
