YOUNG PROFESSIONALS PROGRAM
The Young Professionals Program allows aspiring young artists and songwriters under the age of 20 the opportunity to pursue their craft with classes, lessons, workshops, and events aimed specifically to cultivate and refine their passion and help them realize their professional goals. We believe that great ideas exist in minds of all ages, and that a young person can become an accomplished professional songwriter. The Young Professionals Program creates a safe, nurturing, fun, and challenging environment in which talented and aspiring young songwriters can grow into their full potential.
The first step in the program: The Roots, Parts 1 & 2
- This powerful class forms the foundation for song study at The Songwriting School of Los Angeles. Read a description of the class here. Read the most recent candid student testimonials here.
-
Class size is small to ensure individual attention. The Roots sections are often mixed-age. We believe in creating a community of age-appropriate peers for our young professionals, but as songwriters we also believe in the profound importance of learning how to work with adults as professional colleagues. It is adults who will typically produce their records, become their managers, and often play in their bands. This vital, professional interaction in a safe, inspiring, and challenging class helps foster confident, constructive relationships while teaching our Young Professionals to become the best songwriters they can be.
-
Private and small group instruction is available in conjunction with this class, perfectly suited for the family who doesn't have time to drive all around LA for various lessons and private coaches. Opportunities to work with private teachers in songwriting, voice, guitar, piano, drums, bass, performance, and more.
- After completing The Roots, Part 1 Young Professionals and their parents meet privately with a faculty advisor to plot the next branch of study for growth toward tangible, desired goals. Branches of study may include (and combine) The Recording Songwriter, The Performing Songwriter, and The Songwriter/Producer.
